When you are dealing with a new company, you should check its reputation before dealing with them. Cactus Consumer Protection (CCP) offers an easy and free way to do this. CCP will mediate between Consumers and Members to resolve problems that do not require legal expertise. CCP keeps track of consumer complaints against businesses, and pays special attention to those that have unresolved problems. CCP Members must follow our code of conduct! After a complaint is filed with the Cactus Consumer Protection, it determines whether it is an issue that they can handle. For example, the CCP does not deal with pricing, policies, employer or employee disputes, or government agencies, we deal strictly with our Members. If the dispute concerns a clear business transaction, they will send a copy to the business referenced to get its input about the matter.
Approved Businesses with the CCP are required to reply to complaints within five business days. Non-Accredited Businesses are psoteed at once steps. When a dispute is handled to each party's satisfaction, CCP should be notified so that it can close its file. Cactus Consumer Protection will contact the customer to ensure that the issue was resolved, so businesses need to keep accurate records of their attempts to resolve complaints
Businesses may answer customer complaints with resolution proposals. Once the customer is in agreement, CCP will close its case. If a business has made an attempt to resolve the issue, or feels it was not at fault, the complaint may enter an arbitration or mediation process.
While Cactus Consumer Protection is not government sanctioned, nor has any state, federal or local government affiliation, it is a resource that consumers regularly use to make purchase and service provider decisions. Because the CCP publishes unresolved information about businesses, unanswered complaints are considered unflattering by consumers. Therefore, it is advisable that companies deal with complaints to keep their business records clear and so that the potential for future business is not lessened.
If the matter goes to mediation, Cactus Consumer Protection should be notified as to the outcome of such Mediation or Arbitration.
